For over 25 years, the Canadian Institute of Child Health has been dedicated to promoting and protecting the health, well-being and rights of all children and youth in Canada through monitoring, education and advocacy. We do this by building alliances and coalitions, by compiling research and statistics, by working with policy-makers and by publishing resources on health promotion, disease and injury prevention.

We usually work at a national level, but our advocacy, research and program development affects programs and services right in local neighbourhoods. We need membership impact and support to continue to voice concerns about children and their families, to work with government officials and politicians towards guidelines such as Family-Centred Maternity Care, participate in national consensus statements such as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and to work toward child-sensitive environmental standards.

We need your support to bring key child-related issues to the forefront of the national media, through print, radio and television.

Finally, we need your support to continue to mobilize Canadians at the national level to reach out to families across Canada to help with the crucial tasks of nurturing, protecting, educating and empowering our children.
