Canadian Institute of Child Health (CICH)
For more than 25 years, CICH has been making major differences in the lives of Canada's children. From research and policy recommendations to community development and resource-building, the Institute has touched the life of virtually every child in Canada.

Founded in 1977, CICH is the only national charitable organization dedicated solely to improving the health of children and youth in Canada. The Institute has had a profound impact on the policies and practices of caring for our children through its three core areas of focus:

  • monitoring our children's health
  • educating professionals, caregivers and policy-makers
  • advocating for legislation and policies that improve child health

Argentine Society of Doctors for the Environment

AAMMA was created in 1992 as a not-for-profit organization whose objective is to educate, disseminate and promote the study of environmental epidemiology, in the field of health and the environment using a sustainable development framework. Their work is directed to the community, general public, other organizations, health care professionals and decision makers at all levels. AAMMA is committed to work toward the reduction and prevention of the adverse effects of environmental degradation on the current and future generations of all species, emphasizing the importance to view the environment as a whole, particularly the need for an holistic view of health.
Canadian Association of Pediatric Health Centers (CAPHC)
CAPHC is a national, not-for-profit, organization whose members are multidisciplinary health professionals who provide care for children, youth, and families within community, regional, and tertiary/quaternary healthcare facilities, rehabilitation centers, community care access centers, and home care facilities nationwide. CAPHC is affiliated with the 16 Health Science Centers in Canada providing linkages to clinical care, education, and research. Promoting best practices and optimizing resources are shared goals of our member health care facilities across the country. CAPHC is committed to supporting its members by promoting, facilitating, and advocating for improved research, ultimately aimed at establishing national health delivery guidelines for children and youth supported by evidence-based data. CAPHC is committed to an ever-evolving communication network that provides access for our members and their respective stakeholders to the rapidly increasing knowledge arising from various contributors around the globe.
Argentine Society of Pediatrics (SAP)
The Argentine Society of Pediatrics was established in 1911 and promotes an open model of operation with more than 14,000 members in 9 regions, 40 branches and 9 delegations across the country. Members carry out scientific activities on selected themes through 21 National Study Committees, 10 Subcommittees and 14 Work Groups.

Paraguayan Society of Pediatrics (SPP)

The Paraguayan Society of Pediatrics is a non profit, independent, scientific organization. The society was founded in 1938, and their national headquarters are located in the city of Asunción.

Uruguayan Society of Pediatrics(SUP)
The Uruguayan Society of Pediatrics was founded in 1915. The topic of their first scientific session was on "Childhood Protection". The speech by Professor Morquio at the Society’s inaugural session established the goals and mission of the new Society that remain relevant today: the need to study and prevent childhood diseases, the need to work together where current practice is not effective, the significance of the child as the focus of their scientific and professional work. The importance of breastfeeding, infant mortality, the prevention of infectious diseases, school hygiene and the broad determinants that impact the health of children were identified as an important focus of their mission.
Chilean Society of Pediatrics(SCP) 

The Chilean Society of Pediatrics has approximately 1,500 partners, 115 honorary members from Chile and from other countries, and is the second largest scientific society in Chile. The Society deals with many important themes affecting health of children, including the importance of education, safe playgrounds, reducing discrimination against children who are chronically ill or handicapped, the need to identify emerging childhood issues (such as obesity and child abuse), breastfeeding and equitable access to health services.


International Society of Doctors for the Environment (ISDE)

ISDE is an environmental NGO of medical doctors. It is an independent, non-governmental and non-profit organization. It was created on November 25, 1990 and now has national and regional member organizations in over 35 countries. Physicians from these countries are invited to join their national organizations; physicians from other countries are invited to join as direct members. The Executive Office of ISDE is located in Switzerland. ISDE also has a scientific office, which coordinates research, information and training activities.

World Health Organization (WHO)
The World Health Organization is the United Nations specialized agency for health. It was established on April 7, 1948. WHO's objective, as set out in its Constitution, is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. Health is defined in WHO's Constitution as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. WHO is governed by 192 Member States through the World Health Assembly. The Health Assembly is composed of representatives from WHO's Member States. The main tasks of the World Health Assembly are to approve the WHO's program and the budget for the following biennium and to decide major policy questions.

US EPA

EPA established the Office of Children's Health Protection (OCHP) in May 1997 to make the protection of children's health a fundamental goal of public health and environmental protection in the United States. OCHP supports and facilitates Agency efforts to protect children's health from environmental threats.
